What is Transgender Day of Remembrance?
Transgender Day of Remembrance is held each year in November and memorializes those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance serves many purposes: It raises awareness of hate crimes against transgender people, it publicly mourns and honors the lives of those who might otherwise be forgotten, and it gives allies to the transgender community a chance to step forward and stand in vigil to memorializing those who’ve passed.
