DENVER, CO - Today, Cobalt, COLOR Latina, New Era Colorado, and One Colorado announced “In the Hot Seat: A Hot Ones Denver Mayoral Forum.” Inspired by the hit YouTube series Hot Ones, the May 22 forum will ask remaining mayoral candidates Kelly Brough and Mike Johnston hot questions while eating increasingly hot wings ahead of the tight June 6 runoff election. The event details are as follows:

In the Hot Seat: A Hot Ones Mayoral Forum

Monday, May 22

Town Hall Collaborative (525 Santa Fe Dr, Denver, CO 80204)

Doors open at 5:45 p.m.; Event starts at 6 p.m.

RSVPs honored on first-come, first serve basis

Drinks available at a cash bar

The forum will be moderated by Bree Davies of City Cast Denver, who will ask hard-hitting questions while also eating wings provided by Fire on the Mountain. The questions, submitted by advocates and community members, will focus on our top issues:

  • HOUSING AND AFFORDABILITY: Making it possible for young people, people of color, and families to stay in Denver and live where our lives are;
  • LATINX EQUITY AND OPPORTUNITY: Building possibilities for Latinx individuals and our families to lead safe, healthy and self-determined lives;
  • LGBTQ+ RIGHTS AND EQUALITY: Advancing and protecting equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) Denverites;
  • ABORTION/REPRODUCTIVE CARE AND ACCESS: Protecting Denver as a safe place to access health care by expanding access to abortion and reproductive health care, ensuring affordability for all, and stopping disinformation and deceptive practices.

Local queen JUICCY Misdemeanor, known for both her drag and her activism with Black PRIDE Colorado, will host the program and give a drag performance. The event will be livestreamed and will offer ASL interpretation, Spanish language translation, and physical accessibility. There will be time before and after the forum for mingling. Drinks will be available for purchase at a cash bar and food will be available to purchase via food truck.Doors open at 5:45 p.m. RSVPs will be honored on a first come, first serve basis. RSVP now.
