Understanding Colorado legislation
Starting each January, Colorado's State Legislative Session initiates a 120-day journey where legislators, lobbyists, and advocates collaborate to transform bills into state laws, with the pace of introductions escalating as the session advances.
Freedom to Marry on the November Ballot
One Colorado, in partnership with Freedom to Marry Colorado Coalition, worked closely with legislators to successfully pass resolution SCR24-003 during the 2024 Legislative Session that refers a measure to the 2024 ballot to repeal the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage (Amendment 43). The question will be, “Shall there be an amendment to the Colorado constitution to remove the ban on same sex marriage?”
