Why does One Colorado include accessibility features on our website?

Over 60% of adults in the US have a disability of some kind, many of which can make websites like One Colorado’s challenging and consequently limit their full participation in our work and community. One Colorado has added the Recite Me toolbar to our website as an expression of our ongoing commitment to ensure that the LGBTQ+ advocacy is accessible to all. All are welcome to participate in our community, and everyone can make a difference towards LGBTQ+ equality.

Recite Me Web Accessibility and Language Toolbar

The Recite Me toolbar allows every visitor to One Colorado’s website access to the information, resources and stories they are looking for. The comprehensive Recite Me toolbar works across all devices and offers a unique range of functions ensuring that our work is accessible to all. You can use it to:

·  Read website text aloud (including PDFs)

·  Download the text as an MP3 file to play it where and when it suits you

·  Change font sizes and colors

·  Customize background-color

·  Translate text into more than 100 different languages

·  Access a fully integrated dictionary and thesaurus

How do I access the Recite Me toolbar?

You can open the Recite Me language and accessibility toolbar below or by clicking on  & LANGUAGES in the bottom right corner of the page.

After you click on  & LANGUAGES, the Recite Me toolbar opens and displays a range of different options for customizing the way the website looks and ways you can interact with the content.

Choose from a range of features including translation into over 100 languages, text-to-speech functionality, reading aids, and styling options. This includes adjustments to color, font type, and size.

Providing an inclusive experience online is extremely important to One Colorado, and we are committed to ensuring we help everyone to view our content in a way that works best for them.

How to use the Recite Me accessibility toolbar:

Our website is equipped with Recite Me language and accessibility tools to make it more accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible. Below you will find a guide to using all of the features on the Recite Me toolbar.

Where can I find support for Recite Me?

In addition to the usage examples we’ve highlighted here, you can read the Recite Me User Guide or watch this video to learn about all of the different customization options and how to apply them when you read our website.
