After nine years of serving LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families, our Deputy Director, Garrett Royer, is moving on to new opportunities. Having had the opportunity to work alongside him for more than three years, I have gained an appreciation for his commitment and expertise in the work and his presence will be missed. One Colorado wishes Garrett the best as he moves onto the next chapter of his career.

I am also pleased to announce the addition of two new team members to our ranks! Alexander Limas has joined the One Colorado team as our Chief Development and Operations Officer, and Jax Gonzalez will join One Colorado as our new Political Director. Alex will spearhead our fundraising efforts, ensuring sustainable resources to fuel our work and amplify our advocacy efforts. Jax will join the One Colorado team in May, and continue to ensure that our political, organizing, and policy initiatives receive full-time support, furthering our mission and impact.

These changes mark significant steps forward in our commitment to advancing equality and justice LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Alex and Jax.

‍

Alexander Limas, MSW (he, him, his), Chief Development and Operations Officer
"I am overjoyed to introduce myself as the new Chief Development and Operations Officer at One Colorado. I am beyond excited to step into this role with such a passionate and inspiring team. With a deep-rooted passion for strategic development and operational excellence, I am committed to driving impactful initiatives that will propel our mission forward. As I embark on this new journey, I am particularly excited about the opportunity to connect and learn from our incredible supporters, like you. Your dedication and support are the heartbeat of One Colorado, and I am committed to amplifying our impact together. If you’d like to connect with Alex about fundraising or sponsorship opportunities, please reach out at development@one-colorado.org. Thank you for your continued support as we fight for legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ Coloradans."

‍

Dr. Jax Gonzalez (they, them, theirs), Political Director
"As a first-generation college student and queer and trans community mobilizer, I am elated to join the team at One Colorado as Political Director. I love a good puzzle, and I am passionate about bridging the gap between direct services and systemic social change, so I built my tool-kit with expertise in social justice youth development, civil rights, community organizing, education policy, and health equity. I am energized by the mission of One Colorado, and ready to hit the ground running this election season. From California by way of Phoenix and Boston, I have been based in Denver since 2016. I love to throw pottery, explore hot springs with my partner, type 2 fun and cuddling with my tiny dog Nora. If you would like to connect with Jax about political organizing, or pictures of their adorable tiny dog, email policy@one-colorado.org to reach out!"

‍

Garrett Royer (he, him, his), Deputy Director
"It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from One Colorado as of Friday, April 12th. I’ve been with the organization for nearly nine years and throughout that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a Field Organizer, Development Manager, and Deputy Director. I’ve been so proud to dedicate my time to this incredible organization and the community that I care about so deeply. As I step back from my role, I’m excited to watch how One Colorado will continue to grow. By bringing in Alexander Limas as the new Chief Development and Operations Officer, and Jax Gonzalez as the new Political Director, the organization will continue to adapt, evolve, and further its mission of protecting LGBTQ+ Coloradans. Thank you for being a part of my journey with One Colorado. I’m honored to have been a member of this courageous team."
